Journalist Kerry Gold, contributor to The Walrus, compiled multiple interviews from diverse subjects during a months long investigation to write an article examining UBC’s role in the handling of the allegations against Steven Galloway.
The article, titled L’Affaire Galloway, sheds light on Professor Galloway’s forced hospitalization by colleagues immediately following his suspension, and calls into question UBC’s use of the loaded term “serious allegations” as part of their public mishandling of the suspension and firing. Ultimately the article finds, “Whatever the star UBC prof may have done, the university made things worse.”
